The 'HIVE' is Buzzing With Excitment!

The HIVE

It's Cold and Snowy in Michigan but warm and cozy in the Hive.
It was the beginning of 2007 we had high expectations for the new
year. Indeed our boat was coming in. It however turned out to be a
year of learning, frustration, exhilaration and highs and lows. It was
certainly a different year for us. The year before we had lost our
business because of economic conditions and other factors out
of our control. Our income was gone, had my third heart attack,
56 years old and no where to go. We were living off some savings
we had and trying to scrape by the best we could. Our story is not
unlike many Americans caught in the Midwest economic blight. Survival
is the key, survival is everything. I couldn't ask for help, after all I had
worked 40 years and was always able to provide for my family, you
know a pride thing.

The journey started in 2006 after we lost our business. The journey was the
Internet. I never realized what a vast planet it really was and certainly
didn't comprehend the reach, depth and complexity of the Web.
This was especially overwhelming when trying to figure out how to
make a Living on the Net. I never realized how many people were
making 10's of thousands of dollars a week, or so I thought in the
beginning. After all, the offers and claims sounded great, How Could I Lose!

Well it took a while and took a lot of education and a lot of money to
figure out this wasn't a piece of cake. Far from it. I found out the only
people getting rich were the ones that designed the program that said I
would be rich in 5 minutes or Five Thousand Dollars later. Five minutes
came and went and soon after Five Thousand Dollars went to. Not sure
where it went but I do know it's gone.

Then by the grace of god and maybe a little luck I found IncomeBees.com
Why was I so lucky? It's a simple answer really, I found a group of
dedicated and honest individuals who had more than their own interest
in mind, they had my interest in mind as well. Who knew there were
people like this left on planet earth.

Have You Been a Victim of Identity Theft?

We have all seen the headlines. It's a huge business for crooks and a huge problem for victims. They are always trying to figure a way to grab your financial identity.

When it happens you will never forget it, you will be thrown into a maze of red tape trying to undo what has been done to you. Your credit rating will go down while you are in the process of repairing and restoring your good name. Anyone that has gone through it knows it becomes a nightmare very quickly.

Here is the sad truth:

Studies by multiple research groups showed that in 2003, the same year the FTC released its first report on identity theft, more than 7-10 million people became victims of some form of identity theft or fraud.

In 2007, the report delivered by the Consumer Sentinel working with the FTC showed an increase in all forms of identity theft and fraud experienced by consumers during the period from January of 2006 to December of 2007. Let’s compare some of these statistics to the 2003 statistics to see just how much identity theft and fraud have increased in a three-year time span.

36% of complaints received by the FTC and Consumer Sentinel during 2006 involved identity theft.

65% of complaints received involved fraud or use of one’s personal information to gain money, products or other unauthorized items.

The number one category of fraud in 2006 involved shop-at-home and catalog sales, comprising 7% of all complaints.

Other leading categories of complaints are similar to those reported in years past, and include: Prizes or Sweepstakes scams, Internet Services and Computer Complaints, Internet Auctions Complaints, Foreign Money Offers, Advance Fee Loans or Credit Protection and Repair Complaints.

As you can see, generally the pattern of categories consumers become defrauded in has remained relatively stable. The losses related to fraud in recent years have increased to over $1 billion dollars in 2006. The average dollar amount lost by consumers in 2006 was at least $500 in fraud cases. Many fraud complaints involved wire transfer problems.

As in years past, roughly 60% of fraud complaints began through contact by email or by Internet websites.

In 2006, credit card fraud remained the number one category of identity theft, with 25% of identity theft victims suffering some form of credit card theft. Other identity thefts ranking among the top listed by the FTC and Consumer Sentinel included:

Phone and utilities fraud (accounting for roughly 16% of ID theft cases).
Bank Fraud (accounting for 16% of ID theft cases).
Employment Fraud (accounting for 14% of all ID theft cases).

Is Solo E-Mail and Ezine Advertising Dead?

Well the easy answer is Yes and No, but of course it's really isn't that easy! Let me explain. Think about how many Ads you are exposed to today, It could be hundreds depending how many list you are on. What is the one thing in common to most of the Ads you see; The Delete Button! Why?

First of all most headline's do not spark you interest; example:
"You Can Easily Make $30,000 Per Month" or "I Will Make You Rich in 7 Days". You know the type I am talking about. We all know you will not make $30,000 in one month and you are smart enough to know this type of Ad is a Scam or at least over exaggerated, yet we all still get them. So what happens 'Delete' 99% of the time.

In today's market you must have a different approach to grab the interest of your prospect, this is done with an effective Headline or Subject Line. You and I know that if your prospect doesn't 'click' to open your ad copy, Nothing Happens! You have just wasted your Time and Money. You get discouraged and quit your Dream.

The answer to my original question is, No this type of Marketing is not dead, Far From It. However you must be smarter than your competitor to achieve any kind of success on the Internet.

Let me ask you a question. Would you be more inclined to open an e-mail with this Headline: "You Can Easily Make $30,000 Per Month"
or this Headline "Can You See the Tree?". Does the second Headline evoke a Curious Response? Of course it does! At the very least you arecurious as to what that headline is talking about. Bam! You just cracked the code! 90% of your work is done, your prospect opened your e-mail. Do You See the Tree Now?

Although this Headline has nothing to do with the content of your e-mail, you have at least evoked a response. In addition you can tie the Headline in the body of your message. Example: "Most people can't see the Forest for the Trees". Are you starting to see what I mean?

The bottom line is, if you are Clever and can write decent Ad Copy there is no reason why you cannot excel in any business you choose on the Internet.
